I'm so glad I didn't listen to what the "fans say!".

It was a great love story, but OMG... I cried the whole last 1/2 hour... Why do they do that to a good love story...Why can't it end with " lived happily ever after " once in a while.

I just watched this movie, because 1.) my partner wanted to watch it and 2.) I was also intrigued by the film and expected Anne Hathaway movies to be delightful, light and romantic. What it all boils down to is that she is in love with her best friend and he lives his party-hard drug addictive promiscuous self-centered life, all the while she STILL in love with him and in my opinion, waits for him the entire time! When he finally is done with his marriage and is single (2003 or so) and she has her life together, he thinks he can just walk into her open arms! She ends up picking him and they get married, but then in 2006 she is riding her bike and SERIOUSLY OUT OF THE BLUE A BIG TRUCK HITS HER AND SHE DIES!! WTF! This movie sucks and I hate that it ended in such an abruptly disturbing and sad way! DO NOT SUPPORT THIS FILM, it SUCKS!!

This an excellent movie!!Anne Hathaway did a wonderful job as Emma...and the screen play is better than the book...

Unlikable characters, became disinterested in story quickly, pace was too slow.
